Looks like an emerald crab to me watch him I had one of my tanks great alea grazer but also started distoyng my frilly mushroom so I got ride of him.

Can someone please ID this Crab?

That is probably not "reef safe." Expect it to eat what it can catch and get larger. Not one for a fuge, a tank with clams, snails, etc. There is slim possibility it is an "acro crab" but I would tend to doubt it.

 

fwiw: No idea on species, but it is not Mithrax sculptus, Emerald Crab, which would have flat areas on the inside tips of the pinchers.

I agree with Traveller7 that it is not Emerald Crab....

 

The picture does not show it clearly, but the shell is white and the pinchers are black. Also the legs are very hairy... As of now he is dead

 

More than once, I have seen him burrow into the sand bed when I walk up on him.
