Jstahli November 24, 2012 November 24, 2012 Looking to purchase a controller and think I have decided on the Apex. Just not sure if I should save the $100 and go with the Apex lite or go all in and get the Apex elite. Looking for advice to see if anyone went with the lite and wished they had purchased the elite.
STEVE November 24, 2012 November 24, 2012 It depends on what your going to do...for example, the Lite will only let you run 1 PH probe without purchasing a seperate PM1 module ( $ 75) so that right there pays for itself if you need 2 PH probes ( for example, 1 for the sump and 1 for a Calcium Reactor) I have a Lite and wish I would have spent the extra $ and got the regular. Besides that the Lite will work.

Jstahli November 25, 2012 Author November 25, 2012 Thanks for the responses, just trying to do something right the first time around in this hobby. Think I will go with the apex and be ready for when I want to expand. Is it fairly easy to set up?
hypertech November 25, 2012 November 25, 2012 I think so. There are presets for most things or you can write scrips. Search for the unofficial apex guide. It's not by Neptune but very well written. The step most often causing people trouble is the network setup but its their router and ISP not the apex that's the trouble. Lots of people here with them too so easy to find help.
zygote2k November 26, 2012 November 26, 2012 I just set mine up for the first time. I had some preconceived notions about setting them up like the AC3 but it only caused me frustration. When I connected it to the pooter, it was a breeze.
