Super SPS Colony Tank Question

Let's say this is your tank:

How do you keep the SPS from killing each other? Do they grow into large colonies, and when they touch another colony, fight it-out (ie one branch keeps growing, the other gets killed and stops growing in the direction), thus allowing everything to fill in automatically? Or do you have to reach in and manual snip pieces off that touch other SPS colonies?

You just let them go. They work it out. Sometimes you have to frag out a colony that is being overrun.
