flooddc June 17, 2012 June 17, 2012 I finally caught the velvet damsel (beautify fish imo, but ughh!!) from my heavily aquascape mixed reef tank after months of trying different types of traps. I used many bottle traps as well as my own innovated invisible bag trap. Caught everything else in the tank but the velvet. As my last resort, I decided to removed most of the corals and LR out last night to catch this bugger. Cornered him many times but the little bugger managed to escaped. After 2 looooooong hours!!! he was caught and transferred to the sump. Then another 2 more hours to re-aquascape but was unable to put it back the way I had it. What a night!! Hopefully, no damage to the my reef residents with this ordeal! Well, lesson learned...never put another "reefsafe with caution" or "reef compatible" fish into the reef tank again.
