Jan February 9, 2012 Share February 9, 2012 Very cool, Mike. I didn't know that fungia were also known as mushroom corals. I have seen mine inflate in the middle of the night and saw the sand slide off of them. My engineer goby gets a bug and decides to make tunnels whever it wants to. Several times he's dumped sand on my plate corals. I've also seen them move. Never thought that they could dig themselves out of a pile of sand.
