Fishie February 3, 2012 Share February 3, 2012 I got a used tank last weekend...it sat dry for a 3 days...and as of last night has salt water and I just added in a new sand bed... I want to move the rock and livestock from my 70 gallon into this(135g). I will probably bring over 30 plus gallons of water from the old tank... Just curious as to how long I should let it cycle for....
Coral Hind February 3, 2012 Share February 3, 2012 What livestock are you moving, fish, corals, and inverts? Since you are moving the live rock you may not see a cycle or only a small one. If you have a sand bed in the 70 gallon then I would bring over a couple of cups of sand to seed the new sand bed.
Coral Hind February 3, 2012 Share February 3, 2012 Also, during the first few weeks just keep testing the water for ammonia and nitrite and keep a bottle of Prime or something similar on hand in case it is needed.

Also, during the first few weeks just keep testing the water for ammonia and nitrite and keep a bottle of Prime or something similar on hand in case it is needed.
