I've always thought it would be cool to build a tank, but always thought it sounded scary. I read this article, which makes me think I would be more at ease building one if I ever had the inclination and time in this lifetime. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2011/12/aafeature

thanks for the awsome article....I would love to try and build one of these but I have seen several people that have been in the hobby a long time buid them and have massive failures.....soooo a little on the shy side when it comes to building one...

I'd do a small trial one first.

 

I think it would be cool to have a tank-building lecture at one of the meetings, like maybe frag fest so there could be some demonstration of steps (would have to use some pre-done stages, like on cooking shows), and an introduction to materials. Of course a demo would have to use like nano sized materials.

 

There is one thing in the article I'm not clear on, which is the little wood blocks in the corners that are put there before glass placement. It sounded to me like the intention is to take them out once the glass is ready to go it, but the author never mentions taking them out.
