sde219 May 20, 2005 May 20, 2005 This container would be great for my new tank but I hate to spend $30 for a simple container for top-off. Anyone know of a similar item? The dimensions of this one are perfect. http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.a...roduct%5Fid=953
flowerseller May 20, 2005 May 20, 2005 Do they stay square after you fill them with water or do they bulge so the lid doesn't fit?
Lee Stearns May 20, 2005 May 20, 2005 Jake has the neatest system I have seen- not sure where he got it at though. Jake??
reelsteel May 20, 2005 May 20, 2005 Go to BJ's or Sams club and look at their large plastic cat food containers. They come in different sizes from 3.5 gallons to I think over 5 gallons. Just dump out the food if you don't have a cat. They are pretty sturdy plastic and come with a nice cover, some have a half permant top and the flip top can be drilled. Good luck.
steveoutlaw May 23, 2005 May 23, 2005 Can you fit a 5g bucket under your tank? I have a 5g bucket with a pump operating on a float valve. I just fill it with RO/DI water every other day and it has been doing great.
flowerseller May 23, 2005 May 23, 2005 Get up here with the "BIG BOYS". We use 30g trash cans and don't want them to fit.
steveoutlaw May 23, 2005 May 23, 2005 Everytime I try to climb up with the bigboys, there is a wife to slap me back down and remind me I'm lucky I even have a tank in the first place. I think I'll just stay down where I am.....it's safer that way!
