saltaquaman May 10, 2011 May 10, 2011 I am looking to get out of the hobby and my main concern is that my corals and fish are well taken care of. I havent been able to put as much time in on my system as the fish and corals deserve so I would like to donate my entire 90 system as a school tank. It 90 gallon reef ready and drilled. System: 90 gallon w/overflow Protein Skimmer and under tank sump Lighting: 48inch odyssea 2MH 250W 20k/2 96W Actinic with Icecap Ballasts Livestock: 100lbs Live Rock Yellow Tail Purple tang Foxface 1 ocellaris clown (common) Brittle star Coral Banded Shrimp MISC crabs and snails Corals: Green Branching Hammer Pink Pocillipora A Fromosa Many Polyps, Green, Brown w/orange center, Pink Purple Bonsai 20K lokaini mummy eye chalice it isnt a show aquarium and some of the corals definitely are not for beginners so if an officer would like to have them for safe keeping I have no objections. I have a lot of money in this system but in the spirit of the hobby I dont want it getting parted out and sold for profit, my main concern is that my fish and corals go to a good home.
roni May 10, 2011 May 10, 2011 very kind gesture Too bad people like you are getting out of the hobby. If you reconsider, maybe being part of the club will get your interest up again. If not, I'm sure a school will be ecstatic to get a setup like yours!
Brian Ward May 10, 2011 May 10, 2011 Thanks for being interested in donating to a school. I've PMd the other officers to let them know. We'll need some time to coordinate and determine if there is a school interested in taking the tank. Me or one of the other officers will PM you shortly to begin determining what you'd like to do and what your timeline is.
