Guest rennfamily April 22, 2005 Share April 22, 2005 One of my lovely clownfish has decided in the last two days that he'd rather hang out in the overflow box. Well I've fished him out both times and not an easy feat. This evening Hubby was watching the lawnmower blenny that actually came out and noticed that the same Clown is now at the top of the tank, seems to be gasping for air and his fins are clamped. Other than the obvious stress is there anything else this could be? I have removed him to a QT as my damsel was nipping at him. All params look great Amonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates are a little high at 30 ph at 8.2. Nothing has changed in the tank and nothing new has been added. Thanks in advance for any help. Grav April 23, 2005 Share April 23, 2005 low oxygen can cause fish to gasp at the surface. A tank mate picking on him can't help
unninair April 23, 2005 Share April 23, 2005 One of my clowns exhibit the same symptoms, when the pump in my protein skimmer gets clogged and dont aerate the water as much. So I agree with Grav - could be lack of oxygen. Unni
