quazi November 10, 2010 November 10, 2010 I assume these are snail eggs. Any ideas on what type of snail? I have trochus, astreas, ceirths, nerites, Nassarius Vibex, Zig Zag Periwinkles, limpets, and Fuzzy Chiton. Lots of critters. Maybe something else?
Vadim November 10, 2010 November 10, 2010 are you talking about the white spots? i've had snail eggs but didn't look anything like that. mine hatched well only a few did. out of like hundreds and hundreds of them.
Jan November 10, 2010 November 10, 2010 They look like nerite but hey tell me about that chalice that I see in the pic. It's really pretty. I assume these are snail eggs. LCDRDATA November 11, 2010 November 11, 2010 I've watched ceriths and turbos lay eggs in my tank, and both types left long, coiled strings of tiny, tiny eggs. My guess is that those are a group of babies, either limpets or stomatella (hard to say). I also remember reading about pyramid snails - white, and about the size & shape of rice grains, if memory serves - that parasitize and kill clams. Judging from the discoma next to them, these aren't even that big, but if you have one or more clams and can't make a positive ID that they're harmless, I'd suggest getting rid of them just to be safe.
Jan November 11, 2010 November 11, 2010 You can see the egg shell of a nerite here http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/sept2003/invert.htm looks identical to your picture to me.
