Very nice!! I am setting up a 14 biocube for the wife and were debating weather or not to bother with a skimmer. Do you run one in you12?

No skimmer. Actully, all I have in the back is a sponge, thermometer, and a return pump. I did have a phosphate eliminator and another bag of stuff to eliminate nitrates, but I took it out over a month ago. It might not be a bad idea for me to replace it.

however, I mostly have softies, and only 2 fish, and two interts. I am very careful when adding animals to the tank, and I do a 2 gallon water change EVERY week. I've only missed twice in the eight months I've had the tank, so thats probably why I get away without haveing a skimmer.

Hope this helps :)

Perfect thats our goal 2 gallons or so a week. Shell also be doing softies a couple fish and harlequin shrimp. Thanks for the input!!
