wirick21 September 4, 2004 September 4, 2004 I was just wondering if you can just use regular pvc glue or is there something different you have to use? Thanks Brian
flowerseller September 4, 2004 September 4, 2004 I have always used Oatey - regular clear - for ridgid pvc. When I'm working with tiger flex pvc I use Oatey wet-N-shine. (blue) I generally do not use purple primer, but it's my house and floors. :D I allow some set up time before putting joints in service. HTH, Chip
michaelg September 4, 2004 September 4, 2004 Good old oatey! Yes if it is safe for drinking water it is safe for the tank (general rule of thumb). I have heard of people using the purple pirmer to ppaint pipes unitl the corraline grows over it :D I always get the double pack, so have always primed, like chip, I use a different one for flex PVC. For both, let cure overnight.
Guest tgallo September 7, 2004 September 7, 2004 for external joints, i use the clear primer and glue, it looks alot nicer when complete.
