Happyfeet January 29, 2010 January 29, 2010 I'm redoing my plumbing design It's just too noisy as it is. Constantly gurgling. Here is my current plumbing job. At the top after the bulkhead is a T PVC joint for air intake which I tried to regulate (to no avail). Here is my new design, again it will have a T PVC joint after the bulkhead to attempt to regulate air again. (I've found if I don't have that the intake in the tank itself makes an even louder sucking noise.) My hopes is the U in the plumbing will slow the water down and reduce the noise at the same time hopefully reducing the amount of air thrust into the sump. Any ideas comments?

Happyfeet January 29, 2010 Author January 29, 2010 (edited) I have my frag tank setup like that and it does keep the noise down. How long will the horizontal run be? The longer the better. I could rearrange the sump and have the horizontal run be about 3' -3 1/2' currently its only 1' - 1 1/2' I thought up a couple of designs and this one seemed to make the most sense. Thanks for the input. Edited January 29, 2010 by Happyfeet
