davelin315 December 10, 2009 December 10, 2009 Anyone ever seen an acropora with a growth structure like this one? If you have, let me know, I want a piece! By the looks of it, looks to be maricultured, Australia or Indonesia?
El Camaron December 10, 2009 December 10, 2009 kind of looks like this to me but a different color http://www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/ItemD...&ddid=73200
Sikryd December 10, 2009 December 10, 2009 DD has a LOT of those type's coming in lately. I presume you like the "bulbous" look of it? Is so, I've seen a lot recently on DD.
davelin315 December 10, 2009 Author December 10, 2009 Yes, I'm thinking of the corallite structure, color does nothing for me on this particular picture, but it looks like it could really develop into something cool. These are different than the one on DD, and although they will grow differently in different conditions, this one has longer corallites that seem to stretch further and clump near the end of the branch rather than all across the coral, it's almost like the base doesn't exist and it's nothing but long corallites. It's structure does resemble A. granulosa, A. gomezi, A. navini, and A. rosaria, but none of them have the single long corallite that clumps at the tip like this one does, possibly even an A. tenuis, but again, the structure is different.
