Saw these on DD and thought I would post up the info. Crazy expensive, but rare I guess.....

Hmmm... kind of plain in my opinion. I wonder if they change coloration at all to make them worth that price tag - like maybe developing a Bears logo on the side of them or something like the phrase "Cha-ching$$$".

Nope - they're just a deep water wrasse from one region - which makes them pretty rare is all.

 

I would much rather have a Condei (which is on my wife's list - she just doesn't know it yet ) - About 1/10 the price and look VERY similiar - but have 2 different flashes.

 

I just figured I would post them up since I know a few guys that like rare fish. These ones are kind "bland" in my opinion. Especially for the price, like you said.
