Skimmer Question.....

First picture is normal accumulation. The first round of wet skimmate would be like what is in the 1g container, and the next will be lighter. After a few cups no matter how you adjust the skimmer the water will be clear. Then you can crank it up for the sake of removing more water no need for bubbles.

 

It would be a good idea to do that any time you turn off the pumps, because any water going into the sump when teh skimmer inner level drops, is going to be what you see in that container - I should have thought of that before... now I have so I guess I will have to start doing it!
