reefhunter June 29, 2009 June 29, 2009 I am thinking of keeping some lps for now and need to design a sump for my oceanic tech tank because nothing really fits well. I want to design the sump around the best skimmer for the application. What is a small footprint skimmer that is awesome, rated for 60-90 gallons+? Oh, and I know that Rob is going to say I should not use a skimmer at all... and I am considering just doing only a fuge but... anyway... skimmer recommendations please...
ctenophore June 29, 2009 June 29, 2009 I saw Dan's GSA cone skimmer in action today, that would be the perfect skimmer for a small footprint in-sump model. You could bid on SN #1 in the auction forum.
jamesbuf June 29, 2009 June 29, 2009 overkill? Maybe depends on what pump you put on it? Not really sure, but I'd image an Eheim pump hooked up to it would be higher rated than a Sedra pump, and vise versa.
ctenophore June 29, 2009 June 29, 2009 Maybe a bit, but that way you could keep more fish in there. A school of 40 tiny anthias or cardinals would look sweet in a cube.
