Crustys/Fish that can fit in a 2.5?

Recommended Posts

I want more of something in my 2.5 gallon. Something that moves. I have 2 sexy shrimp, but it doesn't add much movement to my tank. Please keep fish suggestions under an inch. Also, are there any crustys that won't eat my sexies? I don't want hermits b/c they are annoying.

Here's what I have thought of....

Yellow Clown Goby

or

Neon Goby

or

More Sexies

or

Yellow Tang  j/k

I have a neon goby in one tank and a yellow clown goby in the other.

The yellow clown goby seems to have more character and likes to hang out on the coral, while the neon likes to find crevices to hang out in.

I think the yellow clown goby would be a good addition.

IMO neon, the clown g's seem less active (but it looks as though it is all a matter of opinion)

LOL..agreed..maybe that is why I got the last neon goby... :-)

While its true the clown goby is likely to be more visible, it also is true that it likely won't move much. It will most likley just perch and stare at you.

What about a cardinal? Like maybe a flame, orangestripped or threadfin?

This page has some suggestions listed near the bottom:

I had a chalk bass once and it seemed like a really nice, semi-active fish and very hardy.

Flame Prawn goby. Cool to watch and does not grow bigger than 3/4"

I hadn't though of a prawn goby and a pistol shrimp that could be a good duo for the tank!

I really like the flame prawn goby, but from what I have seen on this forum they are a little too steep pricewise for me.

Right now I'm leaning toward either the yellow or blue neon goby.
