I have seen them in plenty of sps dominated tanks, but there is always the possibility that you will get the bad one.  Beautiful fish though.  I have kept 3 angels (coral beauty, eibli, and lemonpeel) over the years and never had a problem, but have heard otherwise.  small feather dusters and sponges may suffer, and clams with definate caution.

Like the boss (Michael) said, 95% of the time they are reef safe.  It's always possible to get one that will pick at it.

I have a Flame and a Coral Beauty in my 125g which is about 93% sps and have no problems.  Just feed them a lot of frozen food and add nori sheets 5-7 days a week to give them something to graze on during the day.

I had one that was fond of nipping at some of my soft corals (of all things), but left the SPS corals alone.  Perhaps I just didn't have the "right" kinds of SPS corals.

Like Michael and Craig said, it's basically a crap shoot whether your's will nip or not.  I read they tend to nip as they grow, so the older it gets, the more likely it will nip.

David:

I had one in my tank and did not pick on anything. At least that was for the 2 days it was there until it died and killed every other fish in the tank. It spread marine velvet, or how I like to call it marine ebola, to the other fish. Have heard of plenty of people keeping them without problems, expecially in SPS tanks.

My $2000 yen

Well, this little guy is picking at my sps polyps.

I have seen pictures of other people's tank with these guys in it and I finally gave into it after resisting it for a long time and now this little guy is picking at my corals. I just got it yesterday and as soon as I put it in he went to the corals.

Can't win. Like the others been saying, can't tell from one fish to the other, I guess.

I am hoping this is just a fad for this critter, but if what Tom says holds true then I am out of luck.

Thanks guys. :)
