davelin315 May 18, 2008 May 18, 2008 I'm terrible with colors and hence, I often have to go to multiple people in order to read test kits (my ability to differentiate between color shades is horrible) so I'm considering a photo meter test. Anyone have any experience with these? Foster and Smith has them on sale during their anniversary sale and I'm considering buying one. They have both nitrate and phosphate which I'm looking at, but I'm not going to make a blind investment on this. Here's the low-range phosphate photo meter. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod...mp;pcatid=15437

jnguyen4007 May 19, 2008 May 19, 2008 I too have a heck of a time trying to distinguish the color at times and wish there was a better way to do this. According to the Hanna site, their phosphate photometer is accurate to +/-0.04. From what I read so far, it seems that the accuracy problem is with the bad batch of reagents. Even when you have a good batch, you'd need to do multiple test to make sure that the reading you get is accurate.
