KABALA February 26, 2003 Share February 26, 2003 Looking to recaulk a tank I have laying around and just curious if this is all I need to do. I was going to scrap out old silicone, clean as best as possible, and reapply new caulk. Wasnt sure if there were any tricks of the trades or something that MUST be done I didnt know about. Coral Hind February 27, 2003 Share February 27, 2003 After you cut away the old silicone you want to clean the glass anywhere the new silicone will be applied. I used acetone on a paper towel for this. Just something I have always used and never had any problems with although I did get a good buzz one time!
