I have had my tank up and running for about 8 months now. I have had very few problems (knock on wood) but I guess that is to be expected as I taught myself this hobby. In my 35g hexagon, I have 2 perc clowns, midas blenny, sixline wrasse, coral banded shrimp, 2 emerald crabs, cleaner clam, and a few random snails and hermit crabs. As far as corals I a small 3 branched frogspawn, a few brown polyps, 3 different kinds of mushrooms (fuzzy, red, and another with blue strips on a purple base), a small kenya tree, and a few orange zoos. All of these were frags, and are not very large. My lighting set up is weak and am looking to upgrade in the next few months. I have a t5 set up with one blue and one white light (sorry im a newbie at the technical terms). But enough with the details.

I have been going to a few local shops and looking at corals and to be honest, shocked at the prices.. so I am wondering if any of you out there would like to frag some of your corals or are tired of something that you no longer want. I have absolutely no problem paying you what you think is fair, I just dont want to pay 50$ for some small piece in a fish store. I am looking to get a good variety so anything that you think will survive in low to medium light- my tank gets direct sunlight about 6 hours a day.

Please feel free to post on here or send a message... again, I have no problem paying for corals, i just dont like to feel as though it cost me an arm and a leg.

Thanks

Honest answer: Spend $20 and join the club wou will save "your arm and leg" the moment you have access to the For Sale/Trade/Auctions/Group Buy area. There are some awesome deals going on right now on livestock.

Agreed. Best money you could ever hope to spend in the hobby.

I paid my $20 at the last fragfest at the middle school... is that what you are refering to?

I would think so, but can't comment for sure. If you paid to become a member, then yes. You have to contact (I believe, Howard?) and have your membership status applied to your board name. Then, you will have access to member areas like the for sale, group buy, and auction forums.

I think he meant 20$ for Wamas membership fee. I also think that it is the smartest 20$ I spent in this hobby. I am sure you can get some freebie coral from Wamas member. I just started too, and I got a bunch of freebie coral, and some that I paid about 5, or 10$ while I would have to pay about 50+ at a LFS. If you pay 20$ to join Wamas member, you can see the "For Sale" section. There are a bunch of freebie coral here and now.

UNCHEELS,

If you paid for WAMAS membership (not for raffle tickets or to buy frags) at the Fall meeting, please PM me with your name, email address and how you paid so I can research this and get your account corrected. I activated accounts for everyone who paid at the meeting except for one or two that never signed up on the forums--or at least never notified me that they had signed up. Maybe you are one of them?

Sales, trades and give-aways are normally restricted to the member-only areas of WAMAS, I am going to close this thread.
