My pump just died!

The sedra 3500 pump for my skimmer just stopped working. We had a short power outage and now my pump won't turn back on. I took the impeller out and it looks like its worn and maybe even a little swollen.

 

I called around locally and no one carries this impeller so it looks like Im going to need to order online.

 

I plan on doing the mesh mod, so I don't need to order an impeller with a needlewheel. Could this be the right one? It's only $15 before shipping: http://www.fishsupply.com/ksp-im3500.html

 

Other places sell the entire assembly for $30 and Euroreef sells for $55! (I thought I read somewhere that we get a discount from ER if we registered our product, is this true?)

It looks like you have found a better source for half the price. Go for it!

 

However, it may be more than the impeller. The entire assembly may have over heated, warped, and never operate correctly again. I would get a new pump ASAP and order the replacement as a backup. As you can now understand, backups are wonderful things!
