bcjm December 20, 2007 December 20, 2007 I am trying to get couple of gobies for my tank (150G with sand bed). Does anyone here have experience with Twin Spot or Rainford? Twin Spot is my first choice but I had problem keeping them before. Not sure if Rainford will be easier. Are they compatible with 6 line Wrasses?
HowardofNOVA December 20, 2007 December 20, 2007 IMO, Randfordi is MUST for any tank, Beautiful, not shy, CONSTANTLY grabbing mouthfuls of sand and cleaning, just a great fish! Not sure about a Twin Spotted Gobie? Had a Tailspotted Blenny that was awesome, until he decided to use my Coco Worm as a home and killed it!

Do they take flake?
traveller7 December 20, 2007 December 20, 2007 How is the eating habbit of the Rainford? Do they take flake? Nope. They will pick at some algae. They tend to waste away in new tanks and do better in established tanks. Good Read: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2005/3/fish
HowardofNOVA December 20, 2007 December 20, 2007 I've had several and as Scott mentioned, not much on flakes, but I feed a big variety to my tank including fresh, frozen and flakes and they always seem fat suckers. BUT, Keep this in mind with ANY Pod eating fish, you need a tank about a 6 months to a year old to put them into your tanks.

Twinspot was one of the first fish I got -- didn't fare well. It can be difficult to get them to take prepared food and my tank was too new to have enough infauna in the sandbed. I have also read that they do much better in pairs. I would worry that the 6-line might go after the Rainford since they compete for the same food (pods from rockwork) -- they are cool looking fish though.
