'Ric December 10, 2007 December 10, 2007 (edited) What is this thing?? I was looking over my tank in the middle of the night with a subdued flashlight and came across this thing. It's probably about 8" long at least, and very strong. It looks like one of the worms from that movie a few years back called Dune. I got a hold of it with some big tweezers and it pulled back with more force than I though any worm could muster. Then it finally pulled itself out of it's own leathery skin, that it left me holding. Any ideas? I doubt it's "reef safe"! 'Ric Edited December 10, 2007 by 'Ric
zotzer December 10, 2007 December 10, 2007 (edited) I have no idea, but I will be a big "chick" here and go "ewwwwwww"! Finding a beast like that in my tank might very well be an excuse to never put my hand in the tank again. Hmmmm, maybe I need to borrow it for a while, until I break the habit. NRehman December 10, 2007 December 10, 2007 As Bob id'ed. Looks like a peanut worm. Reef safe... There are articles in wetwebmedia.
lanman December 11, 2007 December 11, 2007 That would be one heck of a peanut worm. I think it's a boring worm; the other end of it is permanently in the rocks. I had one as a hitchhiker in my nano - but it didn't survive the 'cycle from h e double L'. bob
