FishWife October 27, 2007 Share October 27, 2007 I see a black, small, thing slithering slowly, snail-like, around my live rock. It's like a snail without a shell, and I see it most often when we feed Formula One. Could it be a nudibranc or sea slug that came in on our mature live rock? He's all black; no other markings. If so... good? Bad? I read in Cafco's book that they're nigh impossible to keep and shouldn't be bought...?
YBeNormal October 27, 2007 Share October 27, 2007 Stomatella perhaps? http://www.reefland.com/rho/0305/medprod3.php

lanman October 27, 2007 Share October 27, 2007 Maybe, except black. Stomatella snails come in everything from green to grey to checkerboard to black. If you look closely, a stomatella does have a shell; it just doesn't cover much of the animal. Stomatella are good things - they will self-propagate in the tank, and are good algae grazers. bob
