Coral Bleaching

I ordered from Mr. Coral, and well UPS messed up, the box was lost or something, not Mr. Coral's fault. One of my frags is very bleached at the base, but two of the tips are still colored. Should I just hope that it colors back? Or is it gone for good? Should I try to frag it? What do you recommend? Please advise.

frag off the bleached part, sometimes iodine dips help too. I would say you usually have a 50/50 chance.

Is it just bleached or has it started RTN (Rapid Tissue Necrosis)? A good way to tell is by looking to see if there are still polyps on the white part. If not it is probably just skeleton, and if all that's left is the tips it is likely a gonner. Best bet is to frag the remaining parts and hope for the best.

 

If it is really just bleached, it should recover in time provided you can supply it with adequate nutrition.
