chideloh January 16, 2003 Share January 16, 2003 I am in need of someone who can discharge my chiller of freon so I can work on it and then charge it back with freon. Does anyone know anybody who can do that? Thanks David
bcjm January 17, 2003 Share January 17, 2003 You can borrow my freon manifold to do it yourself but I can't help you charge/discharge.
chideloh January 17, 2003 Author Share January 17, 2003 Thanks bcjm, but I don't know the first thing about using the freon manifold thing. I need someone who knows how to do it. I going to have to send the chiller to the factory and have them do it. Thanks David
dgasmd January 17, 2003 Share January 17, 2003 Just find a local refrigeration/heating place that deals with air conditioners. That is what it is for all practical purposes. No shipping required this way. :D
geofloors January 17, 2003 Share January 17, 2003 If this is an older chiller with freon gas you might want to send it back to the factory. I know the freon will have to be bottled and disposed of,then you will have to change all the O-rings to accept the newer R134a. I know freon gas is very expensive so the conversion will be cheaper. If you have the R134a refirgerant then I would just call a local HVAC guy. Or you could take it to a small shop that repairs AC units and they should be able to do the conversion. Sorry I don't know anyone who could do this for you. George
