yauger July 19, 2007 July 19, 2007 24 inch Current USA Nova Extreme 4x24W T5HO with 2 Lunar Lights what do you think about these lights over my 15 gallon nano? the Aqualights 150Watt MH is too much for my system... (I think) and want to give t-5s a shot... my question is would this be enough to support acros in my tank? here are the dimensions: 25"L x 11.5"W x 14"H
yauger July 19, 2007 Author July 19, 2007 wow no one has any opinion? but it seems if I was selling something in this forum yous would have plenty to say... ehg I will ask some of the members of WAMAS tomorrow...
rrubberbandman July 19, 2007 July 19, 2007 i dont grow acro's...but i do have the fixture and it is nice....yah yah its not a TEK fixture ...yadda yadda............but it should be good nuff' Bryan
treesprite July 19, 2007 July 19, 2007 I've got the 36" version of that fixture. I can't give any feedback on it though because I haven't had it for very long
davelin315 July 19, 2007 July 19, 2007 If you're getting rid of the old fixture, let me know, I might be interested in buying it for school.
steveoutlaw July 19, 2007 July 19, 2007 I've got a Sunpod 70w HQI fixture if you're interested. PM me for details. I just put the 36" Nova Extreme on my 46g bowfront. Not as bright as I would have liked (it's a little blue but that can be fixed with different bulbs) but the colt and hammer I have in there seem to like it. I'm going to put an SPS frag in this weekend to see how it does.

ONE more thing... can someone help out this weekend and house my corals in there frag tank for a month or so? all corals are frags and they are small (1" to 2") I want to do this to bring some of them back to life (color health ect) in return you can keep a few of them! either that or I bring a case of beer to your home!
dandy7200 July 20, 2007 July 20, 2007 This is what I would put on that tank.... http://www.reefgeek.com/lighting/T5_Fluore...Bulbs_by_IceCap
Guest NSC July 20, 2007 July 20, 2007 Brother I will be 100% honest with you I have a Nova Extreme 8x54 t5 over a 55gl and the only thing its bleaching is a birdsnest(go figure??)I am also in limbo as to what will live under these things as all of the soft(obviously LPS and the rest of my SPS are doing perfect) I have requested the par meter but I was too late before dude went to Philly or somewhere. T-5's are beast and to tell you the truth I am in total confusion as to distance/par/requiurements so on and so forth for my tank. There is a lot of info out there about t5's but they are overdriving with an Icecap Ballast and doing this that and the other thing but whats really coming out of these fixtures???Don'tmean to highjack your thread but in my experience the Novas are good. P.S. I have a suspension system I got from Johnny over at BRK but I am hesitant to use it as so far the only issue I see is on an undemanding species that may only be right under metal halides. Don't mean to add to your confusion but I also have some similar quesitons...
YBeNormal July 20, 2007 July 20, 2007 Dude! You confused me and I have been using T5s for a couple of years now!

yauger July 20, 2007 Author July 20, 2007 This is what I would put on that tank.... http://www.reefgeek.com/lighting/T5_Fluore...Bulbs_by_IceCap yeah I'm leaning on T5's but I can't go retro because I don't have a canopy also on my setup a canopy would look awkward.
toastiireefs July 20, 2007 July 20, 2007 hey i have a quick question... should i get the 24in or 36in if i only have 30 in across on my 40gl? and is 96watts ok for a 40?

treesprite July 22, 2007 July 22, 2007 Regarding construction quality of the Current fixtures, I accidentily knocked one off the tank today. It hit the floor with a big bamm! upside down.... lights never went out, fan never stopped.
