SteveM June 15, 2007 June 15, 2007 I have a clam that has attached itself to a rock. The problem is that it attached itself sideways and under a overhang of a rock above it. Its been this way for a while and it seems to be doing fine but I'm worried about it not getting enough light. Is there any way to detach it from the rock without hurting it?
flowerseller June 15, 2007 June 15, 2007 They typicaly attach themselves for a reason. ie: they like the spot. You can cut the foot with a sharp razor as close to the rock as possible. Be careful not to tear the foot from the base of the clam itself.
steveoutlaw June 15, 2007 June 15, 2007 I have to agree with chip here......they attach themselves to a spot that they like. If the clam is healthy then I would just leave it alone.
