Connor May 13, 2007 Share May 13, 2007 hey i was wondering if anyone else had ever had an anemone attack themselves to a living hermit crab. The crab is probably about 1 inch in diameter and has 3 little anemones attached to it they appear to be alive but im not sure. Is their a way to save the anemones

Guest JasonD May 13, 2007 Share May 13, 2007 Are you sure those aren't aiptasia? You may want to get rid of them.
lanman May 13, 2007 Share May 13, 2007 I have a little anemone (not aiptasia, not majano) that has been attached the back of a hermit for the last couple months in my frag tank. As much moving around as it did before it stuck to the crab, I have NO earthly idea why it stays there. I have some pictures somewhere from the FIRST time it attached to a hermit - but it didn't stay long that time. One of these days I'll pry him off there, and drop him in my refugium, along with the other 'rejects'. bob

Connor May 13, 2007 Author Share May 13, 2007 ill move the rest of my stuff from my nano to my 29 and then move the hermit to my 10 just in case. i looked at some of the web sites and the anemone things attaached to my hermit crab kind of resemble those hermit crab anemones. i took some pictures of it with my moms camera and ill try to post them as soon as i can.
