Thinking of getting rid of my 46 bow and stand and replacing with 15 or 20 gal nano,

i was wondering whether i would be able to use the Aqua C Remora on such a small system.

Would it overskim or be too much for a small tank?

What do you guys suggest?

Any all advice welcome and any sensible offers on the 46 bow too [beer2]

I was under the impression that you couldn't overskim.  The skimmer can only take out the nasties in the water.  If there aren't a lot of nasties than your skimmer cup just won't fill as fast.  I use the remora on my 29g and it does just fine.

I thought that too, i was just wondering if a large skimmer rated for 75 gal would be detrimental to a small 10 - 15 gal nano ???

Keep in mind that skimmer ratings are typically for max size tank at moderate bio-load.  Run it for a while, especially after the transfer, then decide down the road.  The boost in airation will be significant for a small tank, but it may outstrip some of the desirables from the water (see faq link in turbofloater thread with long skimmer discussion).  That all said, I did have a small air driven skimmer on my 10 gallon initially, but have not run it for 3 years now and the tank is quite happy.
