flowerseller January 14, 2005 Share January 14, 2005 Am I thinking it's a ricordia type piece? I have some ricordia that looks just like it but I have like 12-15 polyps. If this is a ricordia I paid about $2.91666 per polyp but bought it as one rock. Could I be ready to retire unexpectedly and not know it yet? woohoo! chideloh January 14, 2005 Author Share January 14, 2005 LOL, it was kind of fun while it lasted. I paid 65 dollars for it. Almost the price of a acan.
flowerseller January 14, 2005 Share January 14, 2005 Ok, but is this a ricordia? I'll try to take a pic and post it tonight or have Howard do it to see if it's the same thing or not. Chip
HowardofNOVA January 14, 2005 Share January 14, 2005 Ricordia Yuma is the variety of ricordia found in the Indo-Pacific waters. It is generally larger and more colorful than it's Carribean cousin Ricordia Florida. The unfortunate huge popularity of late along with some degree of rariety has driven prices through the ceiling, especially for the rarer colors. Yuma is easily identified (Vs. Ricordia Florida) not only by the size and colors but by the distinct ring of tentacles around the mouth. chideloh January 16, 2005 Author Share January 16, 2005 Looks like it could be, Chip. Hard to tell from that pic. It looks like it could be a ricordia.
flowerseller January 16, 2005 Share January 16, 2005 Well I honestly don't know much about this piece. It was sold to me as green ricordia. I didn't have any and I liked it mostly because I had never seen it, so I bought it. I have also seen orange and want to get some now.
