Anyone have any experience or advice? thanks, David Only beach I've been to in Thailand was Pattaya - but I can tell you the water is warm, clear, and beautiful. I did NOT go diving there - so I don't know about reefs. I did go para-sailing! And jet-skiing. Most of my Thailand time was spent in Bangkok and Chiang Mai; no beaches there. Ne0eN March 22, 2007 Share March 22, 2007 I've been to Koh Samui and I have done couple of dives there. It was 7 or 8 years ago so it may have changed, but the lodging, food, and diving was dirt cheap. Water was warm, crystal clear but the reefs were just ok - nothing spectacular compared to Hawaii. For me it was a good training experience.
