Guest clownfish4 November 24, 2004 November 24, 2004 I am looking for a good sized pump. I have previously owned a mag 3 and currently own a mag 9.5 and mag 2. I have been very happy with them but have heard of other people having problems. I am looking for something along the lines of a mag 18, about 1800 GPH. What pump would you guys reccommend?
ctreptow November 24, 2004 November 24, 2004 I use the Blueline HD70. It pumps from by basement to the second floor with no problems. I love it it's quiet and powerful. It's been running for 4 months now without issue. The pump has 2 1" fitting for plumbing. External only. Chris
craby November 24, 2004 November 24, 2004 Chris, Is the blueline HD70 quite just while you're looking at your tank (on the 2nd floor 48] ). I'm looking for an external pump that will sit directly behind my tank. If this is the case it will be exposed, and so noise is an issue. Whould you recommend this pump in my circumstance, where it's in living space?
Guest clownfish4 November 24, 2004 November 24, 2004 I have the same instance as you craby. Using it to power my oceans motions closed loop.
ctreptow November 24, 2004 November 24, 2004 It's really quite on the second floor :D. This is the 1st external pump I've had so I can't compare to others. I would say it sounds like a large floor fan on high. I wouldn't have it in my living room but I would put it in the room next to it. I talked to Rebecca (Bemmer) out here in Leesburg a couple of weeks ago and she was using a Sequence Dart to power a Oceans Motions system. She mentioned that the Dart was very quite. Chris
