rooroo February 23, 2007 February 23, 2007 I change the actinics every 9 months, and used to let the whites go until they burned out or hit a year. However I never had high light demand corals. If you do, you would want to change them, rotating which was freshly changed, on a 6-9 month schedule, especially the actinics.
YBeNormal February 23, 2007 February 23, 2007 Don't change them all at once though or you may bleach your corals. Change one at a time and wait a few days to weeks before changing the next one. You might even consider using some window screen to filter the light for a few days after changing bulbs.
quazi February 23, 2007 February 23, 2007 Every 6 months. I have SPS and a noticable growth slow down occurs after 6 months.
Ingo February 23, 2007 February 23, 2007 I run mine with an ice cap ballast and change them very 13 months. If you are using a tar ballast, change them every 6 to 8 months. Ingo
