My powerhead shocked my tank and burned up and now the tank smells of fire? I did a major water change, 15G, the tank is a 55G, It killed my butterfly, chromis and grouper, My yellow tang is acting poorly, My clowns are okay, the rock stinks,my whole house stinks! What can I do, will it stress the fish out more to remove them, any chemicals? Keep doing water changes? Please help.

Sorry about your loss.

Do you have a grounding probe?

That is a mandatory one to have in the system.

Probably careful water changes with new water of the same temp/ph/salinity

will help.

Ditto what Glenn said.  For alll of you WAMASers out there -if you do not have polyfilters on hand get them now.  They are you best line of defense when things go wrong.

What kind of powerhead was it, a rio perhaps  Same thing happened to me.  I was lucky to find it quickly before my tank went belly up.  NO MORE RIOs FOR ME
