Guest Rileyporter January 16, 2007 January 16, 2007 (edited) Hey guys just wanted some input on this: Idea.... Do you think this would work for a top off? I know how to do the wiring and all that just wanted to know if you guys thought it was brass or plastic? The whole "snaps in place" makes me think its plastic like fridge tubing... Anyhow 2cents are always welcomed. Riley Edited January 16, 2007 by Rileyporter
ReeferMan January 16, 2007 January 16, 2007 ok i use something like this but not for topoff. What i did was buy a solinoid and hook it to a float switch that sits in my water resivoir. When the water reaches the float it cuts the main water off from the RO (no waste water producted). I would never use this directly hooked up to my tank however. Plus i have a doser that runs from my resivoir to my kalk reactor and then into my tank. This way i dose and replenish water all the time instead of dumping it all in at once when the water level in the sump gets low
TROLL January 17, 2007 January 17, 2007 I wonder about the ballcock assembly from toilet... Would they work as top-off valve? I'm not sure if anyone have attempt to use it- might be interesting project to try someday.

Riley, I like where you're going with that... it's late but I think I follow your logic, and I don't see why that wouldn't work
TROLL January 17, 2007 January 17, 2007 (edited) Why would you want to put anything that big in your sump? Isn't that what a float switch is? Yeah but lately, some have been made into compact design. My sump actually have enough space for one but I'll get that auto-top off or float switch device if I know where to get one. lol Edited January 17, 2007 by TROLL
TROLL January 17, 2007 January 17, 2007 http://floatswitches.net/ Great! Thanks, I didn't know they'll be that cheap! I'll place a order for 2, one in use and other as back-up.

TROLL January 17, 2007 January 17, 2007 Check brk first, I think thy can help you out... I don't know if I'll ever make a trip down to BRK- it's quite a drive for me but I'll drop them a line and see what they can do. I'm also looking for giesemann bulbs and heard that BRK orders them so maybe I'll make a trip down there if they get those bulbs for me.
