Alok December 21, 2006 December 21, 2006 I am setting up a new tank. I'll have an RO/DI unit feeding into a storage tank. Is it good to use an auto topoff on the storage tank, so its always full? Or is it better to let the tank empty and then fill it all at once. I've read that RO/DI units work better when producing large volumes of water, which makes me suspect that the latter may be better? Any advice?
quazi December 22, 2006 December 22, 2006 Use the auto top off. It works just fine. I keep a 45 gallon garbage can full of heated fresh water. It is a big advantage. I am thinking about investing in another can for SW. Probably worth the investment.
YBeNormal December 22, 2006 December 22, 2006 You are correct. It's better to make larger volumes of RO/DI water rather than having the unit kick on and off for short periods of time. Either have one large storage container and wait until it is low before refilling or set up two large storage containers and alternate between them.
