Hello,

I’m planning a home renovation, which will take approximately 3-4 months. Part of the renovation is upgrading my RSM S-550 (2012 model) to a larger aquarium. I’m looking for a local provider who can sell me the aquarium and all associated equipment and install it. The aquarium I’m most interested in is the Waterbox Reef LX 380.8.

In addition, I will tear down my old aquarium during the renovation and house the fish in a temporary location in the basement. I'm both excited and NERVOUS, but looking forward to this new journey. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Stephen, sounds awesome.  Always love an upgrade.  Have you checked with our sponsors and vendors to see who carries WB?  I'm all the way down in Fredericksburg so not much use as far as who carries what, but I do know that we've got some awesome stores towards DC.

I’ll second the recommendation on getting a local shop to source the tank. When I bought my 260, I didn’t go through a local shop, and no one was willing to take on the move. Makes sense on the business side. Made for an adventure for me, but I ultimately enjoyed the experience….

If you’re in Northern VA, Reef Escape is a great place. There’s also Supreme Reefs, Blue Ribbon Koi, perhaps a few others. I personally use Reef Escape for some of my livestock purchases, and have had good repeat experiences with the folks there. My one interaction with Supreme Reefs was also great.

Best of luck. Sounds like a fun project !

Thank you and I'm reaching out to a few sponsors and local vendors to see how best to get this project completed.

And to your point, I am seeing the challenge in not sourcing locating and having someone assist with the move. Thanks for pointing out Reefscape and the others. I'm adding them to my list as a location to travel to for livestock and equipment purchases.

The team at reefescape do a phenomenal job with their qt process.  Guaranteed disease free and eating if you get your fish from them.
