Guest Rileyporter October 16, 2006 October 16, 2006 Anyone do any research on these? Specifics such as PAR output of various brands? Lumens ? Etc? Think this would be a good alternative to MH's since i have heating issues... from time to time... Riley
jason the filter freak October 16, 2006 October 16, 2006 the inital thousands of dollars price tags might tell you something diffrent in terms of being a good idea for you, there are a few threads kicking around here on LED lights.... the majority opnion seems to be to allow they product to be out for a few year let the manufacturesstraighten out all the kinks and the price get driven down... like digital cameras, cell phones, computers etc.
DEEPBLUE October 16, 2006 October 16, 2006 Does any LFS in the VA,DC, or MD carry it. I think I make the jump, for what I use in electricity for 3 - 400w MH, 2 140w VHO's and 1/2 HP chiller, and the lack of heat so less evaporation, sound good to me, but yes the price is high, but it will be years before they come down. I know when the first LED tails came out for commercial vehicles, they where $120 for a 4 inch tail light in 1998(100,000 hrs) and amost 10 years later there are cheap one the last 2 to 5 years, but the the good one are still $69 to $90 each. I just don't see the price going down in the next 5 years and with replacing bulbs and electric bills, I think it would pay for it self over time. Thats just my opinion. Eric
