Filtering out precipitate?

The way I've dealt with removing precipitate from using clumped salt in the past is not the most efficient, so I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on another method (it will be in my mixing Brute, not in the tank).

 

This was a full bag that had about a 1" hole in it, which is too much salt to waste. I'm just going to use it for the liverock holding tank (my disconnected 50g sump) so the chemistry change isn't going to be a problem.
