danskim October 7, 2006 October 7, 2006 I just recently acquired a K2R reactor, and I was wondering if anyone else had one. I can't decide what kind of feed pump to use. Any suggestions?

Guest snapper October 7, 2006 October 7, 2006 I just use a little rio powerhead. I use one of those john guest slip unions from lowes to hook the tube to the pump output. if the reactor is not in the sump, i recommend against using a "T" off of the main pump because it WILL over pressurize it and it WILL leak, also, if it sits in the sump, it's possible that the recirc pump can pull enough to make the effluent drip all on it's own.

Try this, after you get it set up and the whole thing primed and a drip rate going, try discinnecting the miniJet and see if it will continue to work. Mine does. Everything has to be level in the sump for this to work. ...just saves on a little electricity.
