  1. Looking for a couple of Reefers to help load a tank in my truck in Elloicott City 21794. Hydraulic lift on site just need to slide it in and secure it. Thanks in advance and Happy Reefing.
  2. Hi Gang, Finally I am back from my overseas deployment, and here in the good Ol USA. the tank has had a rough 6 months. All of my corals are gone (I only had three small ones anyway) My Nems are gone, a star is gone (Surprised it lasted as long as it did) and one Pajama Cardinal is gone. However, lots of stuff still alive and doing well Flame angel, Yellow Devil Fish, Ocilaris Clown, 2 Ice something or another Clowns, 2 Pajama Cardinals, Yellow Corialis Wrasse, (Pale) raspberry dottiback, Yellow Tail Damsel, they all made it So, the dilemma. In 2 weeks I begin the process of moving across country from DC to Yosemite Natl Park (I will be living in the park) I have a 90 Gal bow front tank, 36 Gal Sump, Apex, RODI, etc.. I love my tank, but, am not so sure how to move the fish.. If I decide not to sell the tank, the movers would move the tank, etc, but, not the fish. Also, I am not so sure of the space (floor load capacity) or my new place in Yosemite, and the floors have carpets. I'm not particularly interested in the messes that come with the tank over time, particularly on carpet on top of hardwood floors. So, would you sell the system, or keep it and try to put it up there. If you would keep it, how would you keep the fish and transport them? Also, what about the live rock. Everything gets shipped 24-25 March, and I don't arrive on the ground in Yosemite until 20 June.. almost a month later. Any ideas would be great. to include "put it in the for sale section" Or, "I'll buy the whole system for X Dollars" Blake
  3. Hi all, I'd appreciate any suggestions or lessons learned folks have from moving cross country with a tank. I have a 90 gallon with a hippo tang; a couple of clown fish; and a orchid dottyback. And I have numerous pieces of coral and 50-60 pounds of liverock. My problem is that I'm moving across country in 10 days -- I'll be driving to the midwest, and wanted to get thoughts about how to do it. My actual tank won't be going with me; it'd be too heavy, and will have to wait for the movers. My current plan is to have 2 or 3 large plastic tubs in the SUV with me -- one for livestock, and 1-2 more for the coral/liverock. I'm hoping to run heaters and powerheads off an inverter during the trip. I expect it'll take 2 days, with an overnight stop at the midpoint. Any suggestions as to how to do this without, well, killing everything, would be much appreciated. Also, once I arrive, everything will have to reside in whatever temporary housing I use to transport them. I won't be able to move them into a tank until we get into our final home, which may take 2-3 weeks. Thanks for all of your thoughts and advice!
  4. I am moving and down-sizing. Thought the aquarium would be moving too but that has changed. I have a Red Sea 130C (130 liter) that is 5-years old. Need someone willing to come take it all by Friday 7/11/14 from Reston location. Not interested in parting out. Includes entire setup: stand, skimmer, lights, Hydor ATO (never managed to get it properly dialed in), reference books, 2 5-gallon water jugs, numerous Salifert test kits), small battery backup for included air pump, 4 hydor koralia nanos, various additives and media, food pellets, lots of other odds and ends. Tank does have green algae. I am not an expert, but believe it to be hair algae. Photo taken today attached (I think). Livestock: 2 fish: False Percula and yellow goby Serpent starfish Turbo snail Burgundy leg hermit A few blue mushrooms 2 blastamusas (each fist sized with about 2 dozen polyps each) Pipe organs Favia prism (8+ polyps) Orange Ricordia Green zoas A few orange zoas Please communicate interest by Text Message Only to 703-926-3125. Calls will not be accepted.
  5. Hi all - I'm new to the forum, having been directed here by PVAS to find help. I apologize if this is the incorrect folder/forum for this. I am moving (gov/mil work), and I would love to find a good home for my marine tank & inhabitants. Here are the details: Equipment: 46gal acrylic bowfront Dual chamber HOB protein skimmer, 6mo old BRS reactor UV sterilizer multiple powerheads lengths of hose for tank cleaning/refilling Marineland 36" reef-capable LED, 1mo old Livestock: Liverock and 1yr+ live sand 1yr old marine betta (my personal fav) matched pair: ocellaris clowns (M/F) 3 chalk bass 1 velvet fairy wrasse matched pair: tiger shrimp and goby multiple hermit crabs & snails (cleanup crew) Can anyone offer any assistance? Before I venture into craigslist territory, I really want to know this awesome setup finds a GREAT home. I would like to get some money for this all, but I want to avoid 2 things - people wanting to onesey-twosey things, and anything going to a bad home. I love these guys, and I really want them to continue to do well. I think this tank would make a great Q-tank for someone who has a well-established set-up. Please get in touch with me on the board here, and I can send some pictures your way.
