I am working on switching from a 4' 90 Gal with a 4-5" DSB to a 6' 125gal BB, I have a pretty good variety of inverts in my CUC, snails brittle stars hermit crabs etc. my question is this, should I change my CuC now that I will not have any sand to stir up, I have a lot (20-30) of Nassarius snails, i'm not too worried about my Blue and red hermits, they seem spend most of the time on the rocks anyway, but my snails are always in the sand bed. also for the record white hermits suck, I bought 4 from R2G about 6mo ago and although they are fun to watch, due to the speed at which they move, they constantly run all over my Fungia's so they will most likley make a trip to my sump.

Recently I've noticed some detritus buildup in my "aggressive" tank. It's not technically a FOWLR, as I have a couple of large Mexican Turbos and a Tiger Cowrie for algae control, but they don't seem to be doing much on the other stuff. My flow pattern seems to do a reasonably good job of keeping things in suspension, but obviously the overflow isn't getting everything. If this was a reef tank I'd probably add a bunch of smaller snails (esp. nasarrius) and/or various hermits. However, these would just be a snack for the main inhabitants of this tank - a Humu Trigger (~4-5"), Snowflake Moray (24"+) - along with a Blue Velvet Damsel, Valentini Puffer and Falco Hawkfish (each about 3"). I don't know how a conch would do, as the flow keeps the bottom pretty clean; while they can and do climb, I'm guessing that probably shouldn't be their primary mode of operation, as it would be here. Suggestions are welcome.

Got my CUC's in yesterday, snails from BRK and wow! I didn't realize how much Turbo's poop! Sorry if I sound like a child but they are my first critter's and it's pretty exciting. Also, is it normal to always need to go into the tank the flip your margarita snails? They always seem to find themselves upside down and not able to right themselves.
