  1. Hey!

I just wanted to say thanks a billion to Steve. We helped him move a tank. And as thanks he gave us 3 tanks! How awesome is that? I was just expecting a "Thank You." I just wanted to give him a shoutout and let everyone know they should always volunteer to help move tanks

    Thank you so much!

  2. Rocko,

Thanks again I really appreciate it.

    Scarlet,

Aren't landlords the funnest?!!?? That's ok he'll have to replace them if he ever sells the condo b/c the 2 outlets directly behind the kitchen sink aren't GFCI and neither are the ones in the bathroom. His loss. I would've paid for them.

  3. Hi all,

The outlets near my tank are old sketchy things - just like the rest of our building. I've been talking to the maintenance guy in my building and he said he could replace them with GFCI no problem.

So I called my landlord and asked him if that would be ok. I'd pay for everything and it would be done by the electrician who takes care of our building. Well as the understatement of the year he went ape. Why you ask? Put it on the list of what I don't know.

But I'm still thinking I need some. Is there anyway I can have our equipment plugged into a GFCI outlet which will then be plugged in to the old wall outlet?

    Thanks as always,

    Jenny

  4. I'm putting out the call for help moving a 125g tank again. There will be some free stuff in it for anybody who helps. I'm moving the tank from Silver Spring to Woodbridge. The tank is already broken down so it will just be showing up, loading, and bringing it here.

Shamelessly bribbed  I'll be there with the PacStar

  5. Norton,

I went to the DC National Aquarium this past June when we moved here. I thought it was horrible. The displays are tiny and the animals have nowhere to get away from the seeing eyes. It has been show that animals in captivity do significantly better (less stress, longer lives, etc.) if they have hiding places. It also forces the tourists to spend more time at each display. All the displays were really dirty when I was there too. Overall I was quite disappointed.

  6. Steve,

I can help. Thomas and I moved our 135gallon from Denver. But I require beer for any moving adventures

I'm not a big burly guy but I've got hands- unfortunately Thomas has to work thus is the life of a chef, people want their brunch and they want it now. We also have a Pacifica (the back end holds our stand or tank but not both at once). Maybe we could put the tank & stand in the van and move rock in other vehicles?

So if you want I can help.

    Jenny
