Hi, Im Justin, you can all thank (or hate :P) Ybenormal for getting me in here and paying the 20 to join.
I dont live in Dc, im actually 3 hours south, but i drive to DC quite a bit, and being that there is no club in my area, it certinly is nice to have a group to connect with.
I am definatly not new to the scene, been at this for about 11 years, done the usual stints in LFS 's and such, and I administrate thepufferforum.com, am a staffer at WWm when time permits etc.
Hopefully ill be able to help some and learn a few new tricks myself.
Be seeing you all around for sure.
Well, welcome to Wamas!

Welcome! :-)
I like the way you have a split between the two piles of rock. I am planning to do something similar with the 75 gallong I am getting ready to set up. (I almost have all of the 'parts' to start.)
Maybe you can get some close-ups pics.

Is this the bag?
Just saw this thread on rc:

64Ivy posted an awesome picture of his sohal on that thread
Yeah, when I first saw a Sohal at BRK, I knew it was the most beautiful fish out there. Too bad my tank isn't big enough for one.
-
Come on into my shop with your camera, I just got in 2 outstanding Sohals!
John
oh.... then there is that option! LOL
Yes, I will do that.
Thanks.

Do I live close to BRK??? Practically my back yard!!! Ok, well 5 min drive or so. I'd be more than happy to pick up there. I didn't suggest it because your profile says Alexandria and didn't know if that'd be a hike. When would you want to meet? I really appreciate this! Saves me hours of aimlessly roaming the HomeDepot halls.
Johnny said that my lights should arrive some time this week. If they do, I'll probably head out there this weekend. I could send you an IM.
-
Ok, just wondering, does anybody have a nice large image of a Sohal Tang? I want to use it as background image for my laptop.
Thanks,
Eric

N8doggg,
Do you live close to BRK?
If so, that would be a good drop-off point.

I definitely need one, but I won't be at the TT unfortunately. You don't happen to work anywhere near Reston do you? Or maybe I can paypal you some money to ship it to my house in haymarket, VA. What say you?
How about this:
If anybody going to the TT wants it, I will give it to them. If nobody wants it, then I will send it to you after the TT.

Anybody need a Standard Faucet Adapter / Quick Connect Faucet Coupler?
Shown here:
http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=_A6
and here
http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=RO1317
(Hmmm.... I wonder why they have the same item twice for different prices????)
If so, are you going to Flowerseller's tank tour this Sunday?
Let me know and it is yours. I got two of them and only need one.
-
Pics are fine and I wouldn't mind getting them as jpeg's if you could that would be great.
Maybe you could take pics at several tank tours and post them for others to see.
Sure. Just need your address again.
-
Chip,
I'd like to stop by again and this time take some pics. Would that be ok? If so, please send me your address again.
Thanks
-
So, if I were to get this:
http://www.siliconsolar.com/shop/catalog/C...ystem-p-42.html
Would that be a good way to generate electricity for those times when we are without power?
Or, would this be overkill?
Any electricians out there who can provide some input?
Thanks
Eric
-
Chip,
eventhough I saw your tank a couple of weeks ago, I would like to stop by again. Would it be ok to take some photos this time?
Also, I'll need your address again, too.
THanks

Most Efficient Phosphate remover on the market.
Have you tried this, Craig? If so, do you agree? Just wondering because that is what people on RC pretty much say about RowaPhos. Just wondering.

As some of you may know, I got a 75 gallon tank and am now collecting the hardware for it.
I am now working on the lights for mostly SPS and Zoas. And, some clams.
Would you buy this setup?
48" Aqua Medic Oean Light Combo 2x250W plus 2x54W T5

Or, if you have another suggestion, can you send a link?
Thanks for any and all input.

Very nice aquascaping. Some beautiful corals.
Thanks for the pictures.

Totally agree
I was down in Richmond overnight and swung by Marvin's this morning, one word "AWESOME"
The vision of that Macna Deltec behemoth as you walk in through the door is a real jaw dropper, everything Rudy says is spot on, and Marvin (Wednesday - Sunday) knows his stuff, I believe he will be doing WAMAS Discount too (someone please correct me if i'm wrong).
For those that didn't do the social, this is a must see establishment, you won't be disappointed.
I can feel a couple of road trips to Richmond next month when my wife is in Australia on business

If you have room in your car, I'd be willing to come along and help with gas.

Very nice. What size is it? And what size sump?
-
Yeah, great site.
Thanks

Not to hijack this thread, but does the carbon turn into a nitrate producing thing when left in too long? I think I read that somewhere but am unsure. Thanks for the info.

CadStd is avaiable for Windows only.
Didn't realize when I looked at your diagram previously that the angled baffles were that way by design.
I got rid of the 1st bubble trap.
Not to scale since I don't know the equipment size yet.
