  1. Stay in the hobby! I know it's hard but don't give up. I had a really bad crash back when I had my 120gal and lost everything I had. I upgraded to my 210gal because of the crash  They say bigger is better right

  2. Okay everyone I am going down to Marvin's store Atlantis Aquarium Inc in Richmond, VA on Saturday February 13, 2010 as stated in the title. He is a premier salt water store in Richmond. He is the Deltec Supplier for the country and he is the proud owner of the Deltec System that was on display at MACNA in Crystal City, VA.

He knows that we are making the trip down there and is gonna make sure there is a lot of great stuff in the store for us! Please state here in the thread your interest and whether you'd be driving yourself or if you would like to meet me somewhere and get a ride in my truck. I have a CrewCab F150 and if no one minds I have 4 open seats in the truck and a bed to bring all the goodies back in!

I am figuring on leaving at about 0800 to get there by 1100-1200 and there is no rush on getting back.

So please let me know! He is a great guy with a great store!

    Thanks!

  3. You said it's on a Tunze pH controller but just plugged into a regular wall outlet? Or is the controller set to control the outlet based on the pH it reads?

Thats what Tunze calls it. All it does is read the probe and is powered by a 9v battery. Its nothing special and does not control anything.

  4. Thanks guys, I will go and work on it to see if I can fix this.

My Setup is simply a pH probe in the calcium reactor connected to a Tunze pH Controller, with the tank in the back room and soleniod simply connected into a power outlet. I really want a controller but I don't have the funds to do that and it was never brought up when I was setting up the tank.

  5. Okay, I am not new to the hobby. But I am new with the use of the calcium reactor, I had someone help me before but he didn't teach me.

The CO2 part confuses me. First can someone enlighten me how the regulator works and what the use of the soleniod is? Knowing how it works would help me greatly!

I have my 20lbs CO2 tank completely filled and regulator installed. I crack the tank open slowly and get the first gauge to read the tanks psi. I then start screwing the center thing (I don't know what its called, and I believe its what puts pressure into the line). I then crack open the bubble counter and a rush of CO2 rushes into the line but then slowly comes to a stop. The line pressure doesnt change but the flow completely stops! I can screw the center thing (once again I don't know what its call) all the way until it purges the system with still nothing coming through the lines.

This was working perfectly before (before I had to get a refill). Please someone help and enlighten me!

Thank you in advance to all that can help!

  6. Welcome back!

April is not far away. How close are you making the IST (Initial Strength Test)? You can get a waiver for the weight if you can make the IST right?

So what happens to your tank after April?

Yea I know, I can make the run and the sit ups. I just need to get the pull ups which I am having trouble with. With the Marine Corps full up they are not giving out any waivers at this time, so its either I make it or I don't.

One of my friends is gonna take care of my tank along with my parents.

  7. Philip, good to see you back! Are you still shipping off or are you now stationed here? What happened with the Corp?

Yes, I am shipping off to boot camp now in April. I still have to bust my butt to get a few things straightened out like my IST and a little weight.

  8. Hello To All:

Well it has been a very long time since I have visited the forums and even longer since I logged into them. For those of you remembered I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and broke down my tank. Well I am still here and upset seeing an empty tank, so here I am! I started the 210 two days ago and I am slowly cleaning up everything and changing things around that I wanted to do before and never did.

I believe the tank will be completely up and running in the next week or so. I already put in a damsel to see how he would handle the tank, and he seems to be doing great! He thinks that the tank is all his too, boy is he in for a reality check when the inhabitants of my 30 get dropped in.

I will post pictures of the tank tomorrow and its progress.

    Thanks All,

    Philip
