  1. THis may be a silly question but Do I need a Kalk reator to grow corals or can I just add drops to my top off water when doing a water change? If I don't need a kalk machine can someone whom isn't using one post pics of there tank?
  2. Nice tank .I love your stacked live rocks.Did you stack them with PVC?
  3. Why don't we all shop where we are all happy shopping? And for whatever reason that may be.Whether its because of pricing or proximity?
  4. Follow the link address, I am sure none of us here engage in illegal fish or coral trading but something we can all look at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5114929/?GT1=10357
  5. I agree with all above.I joined when I wanted to learn about saltwater tanks .It was a good investment (the $20 membership fee).I have learned alot here.
  6. Do we have a forum here on WAMAS dedicated to FOWLR tanks? Interested in seeing some tanks that are dedicated to aggressive fish only.I have been a member for sometime and would like to get some ideas from tanks with aggressive fish( I am planning to get a tank going soon). Also is there someone here that buffs scratches out of acrylic tanks?
  7. Thank kingfisher but I already purchased the rainbow kit are they any good?
  8. Thanks Chris I wasn't sure if I could use those items but I will give it a try.
  9. Hello I have an acrylic tank with some scratches.I wanted to clean the tank first and then tackle the scratches. What can I use to clean the tank?I think I read somewhere that I couldn't use window cleaner. Is this true and if so what can I use?
  10. I have only had Lawnmower Blennies and a Black Sailfin Blenny (I think they were the same but different colors) both had great personalities and liked to watch the room and TV.They would perch on a rock and just watch everything. They didn't seem shy at all about coming out and hopping from rock to rock watching the room.Never had any experiences with gobies or jawfish.
  11. NAGA would prefer to do this in a group setting but I don't have the space does anyone have a place we could use for a hour or two so that he could show us how to unscratch our tanks? :( Also we could all put up to cover his time.My tank is also empty so I am not sure if he would prefer to demonstrate on my tank or someones thats full but my tank is siting in my truck and it is readily available if need be. HELPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!
  12. Thanks to all that replied I pm'ed NAGA and I am awaiting his response.I will let you guys know what he says.
  13. Is there a place I can take my tank to be buffed ? Just wondering if I can go to an acrylic making place thats near or in D.C. to have my tank scratches buffed out? Just thought they would do a better job then me and be a little quicker.
  14. Good news I soaked my fish food with garlic juice and dropped a couple of pieces of fresh garlic into my tank under some liverock and the ick appears to be gone!!!!!(I know its still there , not on my fish but in my tank). They are eating and look very healthy. Again thanks to all whom replied.
  15. Thanks for all whom replied. The silicone is holding fairly well.
  16. I bought some whole garlic and cut a few pieces and placed them directly in my tank under some liverock and saoked my fish food in garlic juice.I hope this helps.
  17. John your tank looks awesome.I really love the clownfish costume do you mind me asking where you got it?LOL
  18. Thanks for all that replied.I will try to find some type of garlic extract to soak my fish's food in.Can I use any from the grocery store? I have 2 cleaner gobies, and a cleaner shrimp but they don't seem to work.I do notice them cleaning but not enough.I don't think it is a space issue for those that asked .I have a 125 main tank and a 55 gallon sump.I have 2 tangs(orange shoulder, scopas), clownfish, lawnmower blenny,4 chromis, and inverts..I think a chromis that I got from petco( I know should have quarantined)may have introduced the parasites.
  19. My scopas tang looks like he is coming down with ick.Is there any type of drops I can get to cure him.I have corals in the tank and I am afraid of wrecking my tank catching him.Is there a reef safe remedy?
  20. Good news so far.I have given the tank another application of silicone and it sems to be holding fine. .I will repost if it fails.
  21. OK thank you.I do have some aquarium sealant from petco will this work? If not I will try the weldon.
